In a fun effort known as "Emitlaer Racing", Red Line teamed with its longtime factory Acura racing team to present a 1992 Honda Civic that was purchased for $75 with almost 200,000 miles on the odometer. Led by Realtime chief mechanic Troy Wenzel and Team Manager Nathan Bonneau (who also serve as race drivers), the 14-time World Challenge Championship winners used existing safety stuff, wheels and tubing from around the shop and applied enough Honda know-how to prepare a reliable and surprisingly quick racer. Special thanks to AIM Sports for the MyChron Gold data system, Hawk Brakes for pads, Bridgestone for the tire support, Sparco on the safety side, and to David Hobbs Honda for the stock parts assistance. The team looks to swap engines in 2013 from the stock D-series motor to something more powerful (without incurring penalty laps), so look for the car at Optima Batteries ChumpCar World Series events around the Midwest like at Elkhart Lake's Road America (the team's home track), Gingerman, and Brainerd, Minn.
