Nik Romano from GKR Racing piloted his Red Line-equipped Lexus IS300 to victory at the first NASA Race of the Southern California season at Willow Springs Raceway. Racing in the highly competitive Super Touring 5 class, Romano won back-to-back races on Saturday and Sunday, turning a best lap time of 1:39.069. Romano put together a great performance in ever-changing track conditions to take home the first-place trophy.
With decades of history racing in Southern California and across the USA, the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) provides racers the opportunity to jump-start their motorsports careers with intense competition in a friendly environment. Romano, who has been racing since the age of 9, brings immense knowledge of motorsports and technology to the competitive GKR Racing team. Romano and GKR Racing are confident moving deeper into their race season and are making sure their IS300 racecar is full of fresh Red Line Oil fluids. The NASA championships will be held in September at the Circuit of the Americas, with an additional October race at Buttonwillow Raceway to conclude the season.
